Yvette Wilson, star of 1990’s sitcom “Moesha” lost her battle with cervical cancer early this morning. She died at the age of 48.

Wilson has been battling cancer for quite some time and was in Stage 4 at her time of death. She was also suffering from kidney failure and was in dire need of financial assistance for treatment. Her friend Jeffrey Wittle, a Stage 4 survivor, created a fundraising website for Wilson so people could donate money for her treatment. The fundraiser ended on June 9, 2012 and they raised $13,599 of the $25,000 they were hoping for.

Wilson was best known for her role of Andell Wilkerson on “Moesha,” but she also co-starred on “The Parkers” with comedian Monique. She had roles in films such as “House Party 2,” “House Party 3,” and “Friday.”
