Congratulations to Ne-Yo who was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame at a ceremony held last week in New York. Appropriately, the relative newcomer and exceedingly talented songwriter/producer/artist picked up the Hal David Starlight Award for young songwriters. In accepting the prize, Ne-Yo credited music with keeping him off the rough streets of Philadelphia, saying, “I was a pretty riled up little kid. If not for my mom giving me the pad and the pen and telling me to take my emotions and put them there, there’s no telling. I might have been sticking you up or something.”
