19th Annual Memorial Vespers Program, noon May 27. Glendale Cemetery, 2500 Mt. Hope Road, Okemos. Pre-ceremony bagpipes, color guard with drum cadence, music from the Meridian Community Band, Pledge of Allegiance led by a volunteer from the American Legion, guest speakers and a selection of hymns from various branches of the military. Delhi Township Memorial Day Ceremony, 3 p.m. May 27. Veterans Memorial Gardens Park, 2074 N. Aurelius Road, Holt. State Rep. Tom Cochran will join community members to honor veterans and recognize the sacrifices they and their families have made for Michigan and our country.
Haslett American Legion annual Memorial Day Service, 11 a.m. May 27. Vera Ralya Elementary School, near the memorial, 5645 School St., Haslett. Ingham County beaches opening Memorial Day weekend, May 27. Ingham County. All Ingham County beaches and the Splash Pad at Hawk Island Park will open for the season May 25. Beach hours are noon-8 p.m. daily at Hawk Island and Lake Lansing Park-South, and weekends and holidays only at Burchfield Park, weather permitting. Mason Memorial Day Parade & Ceremonies, 8 a.m. May 27. Downtown Mason, American Legion and VFW ceremonies at 8 a.m. at the Monument on the Courthouse lawn. Parade steps off at 9 a.m. down Barnes Street through town to East Street and into the Cemetery where a brief ceremony will be held as the parade crosses the bridge on State Street, with longer ceremonies upon arrival in the Cemetery. Memorial Day Chicken Barbecue, 11:30 a.m. May 27. Dimondale First Presbyterian Church, 162 Bridge St., Dimondale. Meal includes chicken, coleslaw, applesauce, chips, roll, beverage and dessert. Parade features veterans, military vehicles and local service groups stopping for a brief memorial service at Tuttle Memorial Park, and then Woodlawn Cemetery for a traditional Memorial Day ceremony. American Legion Chicken Barbecue following.

Parade starts at 10 a.m. from Potterville Elementary School, ending at VFW Park downtown where a memorial ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Free city-sponsored cookout with hot dogs, chips, cookies and beverages following the ceremony.

Veterans Memorial Parade and Services, 9 a.m. May 27. Downtown Charlotte, Memorial service by VFW Post 2406 at 9 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery, followed by the parade beginning at 11 a.m. at the 1885 Eaton County Courthouse, concluding with a memorial service on the courthouse lawn at approximately 11:30 a.m. Memorial service and luncheon by American Legion Post 42 at noon at 1000 Lawrence Highway.
