After four years of doing some soul searching and dealing with the murder of her mother, brother, and 7-year-old nephew in 2008, Jennifer Hudson is finally ready to take the next step with fiance, David Otunga! The well publicized trial came to a conclusion last May, when William Balfour, Hudson’s ex brother-in-law, was convicted of the murders. Although Balfour was finally convicted, the trial took a toll on Hudson. According to the source, Hudson “was extremely stressed out and processing a lot of emotions about the murder of her family after the trial ended, and she just cracked.”
But the Academy Award winner is back and ready to move forward in life. She is currently planning her wedding but no details have been given as of yet. Good luck Jennifer!
R. Kelly and Jay-Z changed the landscape of hip-hop and R&B when they dropped their 2002 tag-team album Best of Both Worlds, but according to the Pied Piper, it was the late Tupac Shakur who originally sparked that genre-melding idea.
On Tuesday Rolling Stone ran an excerpt from Kellz’s upcoming autobiography, “Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me,” and in the chapter titled “Yo Pac! Yo Biggie!” the singer expresses his admiration for the two slain rap greats.
Kelly recalls a 1996 meeting with ‘Pac in front of a hotel frequented by rappers and other music industry types. He says they planned to release a collaborative album at that meeting, but the idea came to a tragic end after Shakur was murdered later that year.
“Come September, and it looked like my schedule was opening up just before the holidays. I set up a meeting with Pac for us to plot our strategy, get firm dates and make the musical bomb that we both know would explode all around the world,” Kelly wrote. “But another bomb exploded that no one saw coming.”
Though he never got the chance to work with Shakur, Kelly and the Notorious B.I.G. did log in a few recording sessions. In 1995 Biggie made a cameo on the singer’s “(You to Be) Be Happy,” and they hooked up again shortly before B.I.G. was murdered, on 1997′s “F— You Tonight.”
R. Kelly's new album Write Me Back is out right now.
University of Kentucky's basketball starAnthony Davis refuses to shave his unibrow.
In anticipation of his rise to national stardom, Davis trademarked the phrases "Raise the Brow" and "Fear the Brow." Widely expected to be drafted by the New Orleans Hornets in Thursday's draft, Davis said he saw profit potential in leaving his eyebrows connected.
"I don't want anyone to try to grow a unibrow because of me and then try to make money off of it," Davis told CNBC. "Me and my family decided to trademark it because it's very unique.""It changes none whatsoever when I'm in the NBA," he said. "I'm not going to change who I am. It's me."
Davis will not even consider splitting his eyebrow in two as he begins racking up endorsements, he told ESPN.

Feldman said the fight would feature three minute-long rounds with the participants wearing oversized gloves and protective head gear. He wants the fight to take place in either Las Vegas or Los Angeles. Neither celebrity has responded back to Feldman's offer or made mention to it on their Twitter pages.
Remember the altercation between Jennifer Williams and Evelyn Lozada’s assistant Nia Crooks on VH1’s Basketball Wives? Remember Jen calling Nia a bum b%#&!? Well, look whose car is getting repoed?
The reality television star’s 2006 GT Bentley was taken over the weekend by the repo man!
According toToyota Motor Credit Corporation in Syosset, NY, Jennifer has not made a payment on her Bentley since 2009. The car was repossessed with a “no-return order,” which means that it will not be returned to her. In fact, it has been reported that the car is already scheduled for auction.
The lawsuit against Jen for the $92,310 balance owed on the Bentley is still in effect. Jen claims the car was a gift from ex-husband Eric Williams, so she will no doubt be looking to square off with him in their ongoing divorce case.

Early this morning, 50 Cent found himself in a Queens, NY hospital after being rear-ended by a Mack Truck along the Long Island Expressway, and almost flipping his car. Although no serious injuries were reported, Curtis Jackson and the truck driver were both taken to the hospital for examinations.
50 Cent's upcoming album 5: Murder By Numbers is scheduled to be released July 3rd, but we'll see if this changes those plans in any way.
UPDATE: 50 Cent was released from the hospital this morning and is "doing fine" after being treated for minor neck and back injuries.
The daughter of Hollywood power-couple Will and Jada Smith, Willow was likely given more than most re-teen girls.
Smith, who made a name for herself with her 2010 smash “Whip My Hair,” was recently seen, via Instagram, with a new… development. The 11 year old posted a photo of her seemingly with a tongue ring, examiner reported.
"We let Willow cut her hair. When you have a little girl, it's like how can you teach her that you're in control of her body? If I teach her that I'm in charge of whether or not she can touch her hair, she's going to replace me with some other man when she goes out in the world. She can't cut my hair but that's her hair. She has got to have command of her body,” Smith said.
“So when she goes out into the world, she's going out with a command that is hers. She is used to making those decisions herself. We try to keep giving them those decisions until they can hold the full weight of their lives,” he said.
Three years ago today, we lost one of the greatest performers to ever grace any stage in the world and easily one of the most impactful artists of any generation. Lives changed across the globe when the news broke, and it's safe to say the world of music changed forever... We thought we would compile some of the best memories to remember him by.
Not only did Kevin Durant lose his ring last night but now it looks like he might be losing his nickname too!
The NBA star was sued yesterday in Federal Court by a guitarist named Mark Durante. Durante, apparently a popular guitarist back in the 80′s, claims that Durant stole the nickname, “Durantula,” from him.
TMZ obtained a copy of the lawsuit, in which Durante says he had the name first, and used it for his “on-stage and performance persona,” as well as to market “music, recordings, apparel, t-shirts, guitars, and related merchandise.”
Meanwhile, fast forward, I don’t know, like 30 years later, and basketball fans all over the world are now using the name for their favorite OKC Thunder small forward.
Durante (the guitarist) claims that he warned KD in advance to “stop using the nickname". He states that Durant has teamed up with Nike to launch a shoe campaign using “Durantula.” Durant has “Durantula” autographed basketballs for sale on his website.
Durante claims that he has registered the “Durantula” trademark, and that KD has no rights to it.
Retail and online music stores were overjoyed to hear that Pusha-T last night announced the release date for the Kanye West curated sure-to-be stellar seller G.O.O.D. Music compilation Cruel Summer. TMZ reported that actress Halle Berry has been ordered by a judge to pay $20,000 a month in child support to her baby daddy, model Gabriel Aubry.
Berry was already paying $15,000 a month in child support, Aubry filed legal documents asking a judge to force Berry to increase the amount. He said that he needed the additional funds to be able to give their 4 year old daughter, Nahla, a home that would be up to par with the conditions she was accustomed to.
ON TOP OF THAT, He requested a laundry list of other things from Berry, including a clothing allowance for Nahla, and traveling funds to be able to take her to visit family in his home country of Canada.
Berry and Aubry have been in a bitter never-ending custody battle over their daughter since they broke up back in February 2010! The recently engaged Berry is due to be back in court soon over Nahla, this time to have a judge decide whether she can move to Paris with her daughter.
With Tia Mowry leaving BET’s “The Game,” the network has found a new actress to play a new character: Lauren London, who has been in films such as “ATL” and “Madea’s Big Happy Family.”
According to TV Line, London will play Kiera, a former child star currently in a “Cosby”-esque sitcom, for the sixth season.
Losing its biggest name could be a major blow to a sitcom that has been losing ratings steam since it moved to BET and Atlanta last year. The show is still seeking a male lead opposite London who will play an educated, all-star running back.
Lil Wayne and the rest of the Young Money crew want Drake to put an end to his beef with Chris Brown … STAT — because the bad blood is bad for busine$$.
It’s a sign that as bad ass as rap may be … the bottom line is the bottom line.
Sources close to Drake tell TMZ, Drizzy has received several calls from Weezy, Birdman, Mack Maine and more — urging the rapper to extend an olive branch to Brown after last week’s nightclub brawl in NYC.
Sources tell us, Wayne and co. are worried the rift will affect business — since Brown appears on several tracks with Young Money members and, pure and simple, Brown = hits.
We’re told Drake doesn’t want to reach out to Breezy until he knows CB doesn’t actually blame him for last week’s melee — despite what Brown’s lawyer has been saying … that Drake was one of the aggressors.
We’re told Young Money’s on Drake’s side no matter what — but as one source put it, “Making money matters most.”
Today’s the second day in a row that a Miami Heat player is in the middle of some drama.
Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches-Wade, is being charged with child abduction after trying to prevent their two sons from going back home with Wade last weekend.
Although Wade has primary custody, the 10- and 5-year-old boys were visiting their mother in Chicago. Funches-Wade was supposed to return the boys back to Wade by the Saturday afternoon before Father’s Day so they would have enough time to fly back to Miami and spend the entire day with their dad. But when Wade’s sister arrived at Funches-Wade home to pick up the boys, she didn’t get an answer. Funches-Wade also would not answer her phone.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the police were called in, and they played a “waiting game” until Funches-Wade finally came out of the house. She was placed in handcuffs and later charged with two counts of attempted child abduction and unlawful visitation interference, and one count of resisting arrest.
The boys eventually arrived in Miami to reunite with Wade on Father’s Day and got to watch their father beat the OKC Thunder in Game 3 of the NBA finals.
According to Wade, this isn’t the first time Funches-Wade tried to keep her sons away from their dad. In a statement released to the public, Wade said:
“Sadly, it is the second time an occurrence with my boys took place on Father’s Day. I am happy they are now here safely in Miami with me.”
Wade filed an emergency motion to suspend Funches-Wade’s visitation rights with their children yesterday. His lawyer, James Pritikin, accused Frunches-Wade as using the children as “pawns” as she cited a previous incident that occurred on Father’s Day in 2010.
Funches-Wade posted $10,000 bail on Monday and is set to appear in court again in August.
Her lawyers have asked to be removed from the case, Pritikin said.
The album has only been out for 24 hours, but experts are already predicting that Justin Bieber’s Believe has a very good shot at being the biggest debut of the year. Industry insiders are predicting the album could sell between 400,000-500,000 copies in its first week, which would give the Canadian singer his single best sales week ever – his My World 2.0 sold 291,000 copies during its second week on sale. Also, most believe that Believe is a shoe-in to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Toni is taking her sound in another direction and it is clearly working for her. “I Heart You” was written and produced with up tempo electro-beats. The 44-year-old singer's new track is not the only #1, the singer is also the star of WETV’s #1 reality show, Braxton Family Values. With over 60 million records sold, she is beating out Usher and Rihanna on the dance charts. Toni has not been on the charts since her last album, “PULSE” which debuted among the top 10 on the Billboard 200. Check it out:
How often do mothers of high profile athletes’ kids have to resort to food stamps? We saw it happen to Basketball Wives’ Tami Roman, now it’s happening to Chris Bosh’s ex, Allison Matthis.
Matthis is the mother of the Miami Heat's 3-year-old daughter, Trinity. According to Matthis, her recent job loss as a secretary at a construction company has caused her Florida home, where she and Trinity live, to be put up for foreclosure and she was forced to apply for food stamps. But how does the ex of an NBA star, who is currently paying child support, turn to food stamps to feed their child? Jane Carey, Matthis’ lawyer, told the press:
“Believe it or not, Bosh pays her a mere $2,600-a-month in child support! My client just lost her job and applied for food stamps for her and Mr. Bosh’s daughter. She’s about to be foreclosed on, he won’t help her and all he wants to do is go to London with his daughter. Are (you) kidding?”
Carey was referring to Bosh’s request to take Trinity to Long with him for the Summer Olympics. His request was denied by the judge.
Bosh and Matthis will obviously be heading back to the courthouse to battle it out over his current child support wages.
According to Florida state guidelines, a person of Bosh’s status, who’s salary is around $18 million, would be expected to pay around $30,000 a month on child support.
Rapper Meek Mill finally broke his silence on the confrontation last week between Chris Brown and Drake, insisting that neither he nor the two superstars were actually involved in the altercation and that Brown and Drake have no ongoing animosity towards each other. The Philadelphia-based rapper told XXL, “I never seen Chris Brown or Drake throw a bottle and I was there. Chris and Drake, them two was there but it’s other people that be around that take s*** to the next level. I talked to Chris immediately after that… There’s nothing there. Things get out of hand. That don’t mean it’s out of hand with me or him or whoever, not even him and Drake.”
Lansing and the whole state of Michigan makes national news after
state Rep. Lisa Brownwas barred from speaking because
Republicans objected to her saying "vagina" during debate over anti-abortion legislation. The story was so big it was the lead story on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show"!!! So the question is...should she have been barred?

Rapper/actor 50 Cent says the long wait for his next all-new studio album will end on July 3. In a recent radio interview, he said of Five (Murder by Numbers), “I said I was gonna put a record out that was completely up to album standard, and I’m gonna do that. I worked on this album for a long time. It’s been three years.”
Congratulations to Ne-Yo who was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame at a ceremony held last week in New York. Appropriately, the relative newcomer and exceedingly talented songwriter/producer/artist picked up the Hal David Starlight Award for young songwriters. In accepting the prize, Ne-Yo credited music with keeping him off the rough streets of Philadelphia, saying, “I was a pretty riled up little kid. If not for my mom giving me the pad and the pen and telling me to take my emotions and put them there, there’s no telling. I might have been sticking you up or something.”
According to sources, Rodney King was in good spirits the day of his death. His fiancee, Cynthia Kelley, said King was drinking and smoking marijuana by the pool all day before the events that led to his death. Sunday morning, King was found at the bottom of his Rialito, CA pool. Medics physically removed King from the pool and attempted to revive him, but had no luck.
However, friends close to King say they are questioning his fiancee's story of that morning. Kelley said she went to bed at 2:00AM after spending the day with King and was awoken around 5:00AM by King banging on her window and screaming in the backyard and then heard a big splash in the pool. Friends however are saying she has told that story to multiple friends, but the story changed slightly each time. Rialito PD don't suspect foul play but said they will open a drowning investigation.
King was scheduled for a celebrity boxing match with Jose Canseco in August and was thrilled to be working again and getting back into the ring. He was 47.
Yvette Wilson, star of 1990’s sitcom “Moesha” lost her battle with cervical cancer early this morning. She died at the age of 48.
Wilson has been battling cancer for quite some time and was in Stage 4 at her time of death. She was also suffering from kidney failure and was in dire need of financial assistance for treatment. Her friend Jeffrey Wittle, a Stage 4 survivor, created a fundraising website for Wilson so people could donate money for her treatment. The fundraiser ended on June 9, 2012 and they raised $13,599 of the $25,000 they were hoping for.
Wilson was best known for her role of Andell Wilkerson on “Moesha,” but she also co-starred on “The Parkers” with comedian Monique. She had roles in films such as “House Party 2,” “House Party 3,” and “Friday.”
In more “light-skinned-on-light-skinned crime”, tensions between Chris Brown and Drake have escalated. Power 96.5 filled you in on the tweets made by Chris, Drake, and Meek Mill, and Chris went back to Twitter to express his anger…..again. He made multiple tweets this morning (now deleted) laughing off a fight he was involved in a New York nightclub.
He also posted a picture of the damage done:
Brown didn’t name names, but sources present say that the culprit is “your Canadian.”. Details are still sketchy at this point, but the general story is that Drake and Chris confronted each other at the club. The confrontation escalated to a physical altercation when either Drake, or someone from his camp, started throwing bottles at Breezy and his team.
Obviously, the general consensus is that the altercation could have stemmed from one thing…well, person: Rihanna. Meek Mill later made a tweegram and apparently, he feels the same way.
Although it has been reported that Meek Mill had relations with RiRi, he wants the world to know that he’s out of by tweeting:
Kanye West is currently in Birmingham, England with Jay-Z for the second part of their Watch the Throne tour and some thieves saw it as an opportunity to go looting at his LA home.
Someone in Ye’s camp was in Kanye’s home called the LAPD this morning to report the break-in. We do not know what, if anything, was taken but there is evidence that the thieves dropped some of Kanye’s possessions on the way out.
The LAPD is investigating the crime. Stay tuned to Power 96.5 for updates.
American professional boxer, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has only served 13 days of his 87-day bid for domestic battery, and already wants out. He is guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in front of their children in September of 2010.
In new legal documents, Mayweather has begged the judge to release him from the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada and let him serve his remaining time on house. His lawyers are arguing that his imprisonment is affecting his boxing career.
Dr. Robert Voy, Mayweather’s physician, is insisting that the boxing champ is starving, dehydrated, and has appeared to have lost muscle tone. Voy estimated that Mayweather is now consuming less than 800 calories of food per day in contrast to his usual 3,000 or 4,000.
In addition, Mayweather isn’t getting his customary elite workouts. He is given two 30 minute sessions for exercising and is confined in isolation for the remainder of the day. Mayweather also claims that his 7-by-12 feet cell is too small for pushups and sit-ups.
All of these factors have led his lawyers to determine that prison time is doing “irreversible damage” t his physique and may conclusively end his boxing career. At 35 years old, Mayweather estimates that he only has two years of boxing left in him and won’t be able to bounce back in time.
Too bad prosecutors aren’t buying it. One said: “It’s jail. Where did he think he was going? The Four Seasons?”
Mayweather’s lawyers are asking to either move him to the general jail population (something officials wanted to avoid because of his celebrity), or put him on house arrest. A Las Vegas judge will decide whether to ease his jail conditions or not later this week.
Lawyer Richard Wright said he’s willing to accept the boxer serving his remaining time at someplace other than his Las Vegas mansion. “I’m not looking for special treatment for Floyd Mayweather,” he said. “I’m looking for fair treatment.”
However, prosecutor Lisa Luzaich said no more allowances should be made for Mayweather, especially since his jail surrender date was postponed for months after sentencing so he could fight Miguel Cotto in May.
The 2012 BET Awards will feature special performances by Chris Brown, Usher and Nicki Minaj, who join previously announced performers Big Sean and 2 Chainz. Deion Sanders has a new boo and business partner, Tracy Edmonds. They have confirmed that they are going to do a new reality TV show together.
Edmonds, an entertainment producer with her own company, will get behind the wheel on the Hall Famers new project. The show will focus on Deion’s life as a single father, coaching, and of course explore the drama behind his high profile divorce from Pilar Sanders, they said.
Deion is no stranger to reality television. Back in 2008, when he was happily married to Pilar, the two starred in Oxygen ‘s Deion and Pilar Prime Time Love”.
The new show is still a working progress, and there’s no word yet what the title will be, or what network will air it.
Some of you may remember the beef Nas and Jay-Z found themselves in the middle of back in 2002. The two have since reconciled, but during the HOT 97 Summer Jam in 2002, Nas had a plan to take the feud to a whole new level. Nas was planning on taking an animatronic doll of Jay-Z (who looked very lifelike) and hanging him in front of the live audience... Take a look at how things could have gone if he was not banned from performing that year.
Kanye West does not like to be interrupted. Last week he went off during a concert in Paris when someone in the audience pointed a laser at him, and on Friday he similarly called out a fan at his Dublin, Ireland, show, who threw a coin on stage, causing him to mess up his lyrics. “I ain’t going to make no excuses but some dumb motherf**ker just threw a f**king coin up here and threw me all the way off. Don’t throw no hard shit up here while we’re performing seriously,” yelled Kanye (Note Content). “You f*cked it up for everybody. I was having a perfect show, a flawless victory. Don’t throw no sh*t on the stage please.” Well, at least he said please.

Over the weekend, HOT 97 held their annual Summer Jam festival which brought out acts such as J. Cole, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and even suprise guests such as Nas and Lauryn Hill for historical performances. Nicki Minaj was scheduled to take the main stage later in the evening, but comments from the station's own morning host, Peter Rosenbergforced the Young Money head to tweet that they would no longer take part in the show, hours before their scheduled performance. After failed attempts to reconcile, Funkmaster Flextook the stage to add his own comments on the night. Monday night, Nicki called into the station to speak on the issue and why things happened the way they did... Full (one hour), unedited audio of the conversation is below... What do you think of the whole debacle?
George Zimmerman has now been told to surrender into custody within the next 48 hours. Prosecutors said that Zimmerman has "misrepresented, misled and deceived the court" about a possible passport he has in his ownership and his family's financial circumstances, and they feel he could attempt to leave the country.
Zimmerman, 28, who was charged with second-degree murder of Trayvon Martin, 17, on April 11 has been free on bail since then. While Zimmerman's attornies argue the case, the judge and prosecutors have agreed that he must surrender himself within the next 48 hours.
Floyd Mayweather is expected to turn himself into Las Vegas custody today to start serving his 90-day sentence for the domestic violence case he pled no contest to late last year.
Floyd was originally supposed to surrender in January, but the judge postponed sentencing so he could fight Miguel Cotto on May 5th, in which he won and advanced to 43-0 and helped rake in more than $94 million in pay-per-view sales.
He is scheduled to turn himself in no later that 10:45 PT (1:45 ET). Watch a live stream here.
Halle Berry’s recent run-in with a photographer outside her daughter Nahla’s school may help her custody fight against Gabriel Aubry.
Halle wants to move to Paris to live with fiancé Oliver Martinez, as she argues that the move will be better for Nahla because photographers there are more respectful of celebrities’ privacy.
TMZ reports Halle’s lawyer plans to call the paparazzo she had the altercation with in as a witness. Halle’s lawyers want photographer Andrew Deets to reveal the tactics most paparazzi use to photograph celebs.
The YMCMB emcee tweeted: "Was going to the Thunder game tonight but was denied by the team to be in their arena. Wow. Smh. Go Spurs!" after he was denied entry to Thursday (May 31) night's San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder Western Conference Finals Game 3. Team representative Dan Mahoney responded back saying: "We'd love to have him at a game, but like anyone else, he needs a ticket." Other reports claim that Lil Wayne was banned from coming to the games because he reportedly hooked up with Thunder star James Harden's girlfriend, Trina. Who knows what is going on!
