Michigan Uber Driver Jason Dalton Charged with 6 Counts of Murder

(ABCNEWS)A Michigan Uber driver is expected to appear in court today, accused of opening fire in three locations around Kalamazoo this weekend, killing six people and injuring two others.

Jason Dalton is expected to be arraigned at about 1:30 p.m. via video and will not physically appear in court, Kalamazoo County prosecuting attorney Jeff Getting said.

He was charged with six counts of murder, two counts of assault with intent to commit murder and eight charges of using a firearm during the commission of a felony, Getting said.

"The Kalamazoo community is reeling from these senseless acts of violence that took so many innocent lives from us," Getting said in a statement today. "Our hearts are saddened for all of the victims, their families and friends who are dealing with this on a much more personal level.

Dalton, 45, is first accused of shooting a woman in a Kalamazoo parking lot around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Michigan State Police said. The woman survived and her condition was not immediately released.

He's also the suspect in the deadly shooting of a father and son around 10 p.m. Saturday at the Seelye Ford KIA Dealership in Kalamazoo, state police said. The victims were identified as Richard Eugene Smith, 53, and Tyler Daniel Smith, 17, of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Public Safety said.

Trump vs The Pope

(TMZ) Donald Trump just went full bore on the Pope, saying the pontiff was "disgraceful" for questioning his faith.

Trump was reacting to the Pope's comment, "A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian." It seems to be a thinly veiled attack against Trump, who wants a wall between the U.S. and Mexico.

Trump went off ... "For a religious leader to question a person's faith is disgraceful. I am proud to be a Christian."
Trump believes the Mexican leaders with whom the Pope just met have poisoned him with one-sided views on immigration, adding, "They are using the Pope as a pawn."

And Trump says this ... "If and when the Vatican is attacked by ISIS, which as everyone knows is ISIS' ultimate trophy, I can promise you that the Pope would have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been President because this would not have happened."

Lansing Mall Introduces Family Night Program

(LSJ) Starting this week, no one under the age of 17 will be allowed in the Lansing Mall on Friday and Saturday evenings unless they are accompanied by an adult age 21 or older.

The program, which will also include the introduction of family events on those nights, is “in response to the local community's feedback regarding the number of unsupervised youths at the mall on Friday and Saturday nights,” Rouse Properties, owner of the Lansing Mall, said in a statement sent to the Lansing State Journal.

Unsupervised children and teenagers won’t be permitted to remain in the mall after 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. One supervising adult may accompany up to 6 young people, all of whom must remain with that adult.

The policy does not cover stores and restaurants with exterior entrances.

"Our top priority is the well-being of our customers, retailers and employees and to provide them with a pleasant shopping experience in a safe and family-friendly environment,” the Rouse Properties statement says.

Family Night events listed on the Lansing Mall's website include: Valentine’s Day photo and craft event on Feb. 12; face painting on Feb. 19; a juggling performance on Feb. 20; family game night on Feb. 26 and a celebration of musical arts on Feb. 27.
