(LSJ) A 23-year-old Michigan State University student was arraigned yesterday after allegedly making a terrorist threat toward a building on campus earlier this week.


Sydney Gort is charged with two counts of making a terrorist threat, one of which relates to the written threat discovered Tuesday evening inside the MSU School of Packaging building, The second count relates to a terrorist threat made on campus in April.


Each count of making a terrorist threat is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $20,000, or both.


Gort was remanded to Ingham County Jail and her bond was set at $250,000 by Ingham County District Judge Thomas Boyd.


Gort is listed as a packaging major by the university, though she was barred from returning to MSU’s East Lansing campus by Boyd.


MSU’s latest statement does not include more information on the threat made by Gort earlier this year. Other details of Wednesday's incident, including what was written and who discovered the threat have not yet been released.


Gort's next court date is scheduled for Dec. 4.

The Magic Johnson Foundation Holiday Hope program was in full force at Everett High School on Sunday afternoon.

Magic met with over 200 children from the Boys and Girls Club of Lansing, before going outside to help distribute donations to around 1,000 area families.

Magic's  family members were there to help as well as his Spartan family. Michigan State University's Men's Basketball Coach Tom Izzo and the entire basketball team helped hand out toys and coats to children before going outside to give out more donations.

Over the whole weekend, the Magic Foundation donated nearly $1 million in food and other items to needy families between Detroit and Lansing.
