EARVIN "MAGIC" JOHNSON JR.

 

Lansing born Earvin Magic Johnson Jr. is a graduate of Everett High School, Johnson also attended Michigan State University where he won the national college basketball championship in his second year.

 

After his second year at MSU, Johnson was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1979. Where Johnson won an NBA Most Valuable Player award for his efforts in leading the Lakers to a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

 

Johnson recently partnered with "quality of life solutions" provider Sodexo to form SodexoMAGIC where he serves as president and CEO. In 2014 SodexoMAGIC took over the running of food services for the Lansing school district.  Through SodexoMAGIC Johnson’s aim is focused on increasing the number of Lansing  kids enjoying healthy school meals by providing more healthy options each day.
