BIO:

Born Steven Banks, the Michigan-based rap artist known as This Life. We Lead has been making music since he was 12. Spending his days as a middle school teacher, he cites influences as those rappers who aren’t afraid to stray away from the typical sound. Steven’s brand of alternative rap was shaped by experimenting with styles, sounds and playing with various bands throughout the years, which included picking up the guitar in the early 2000’s, making beats in 2004 and tapping into his lyrical side around 2008. Since then, he’s been honing his craft and priding himself on writing songs that are easily relatable and based on real life issues. Under the name of This Life. We Lead., Steven’s mission is to help people understand that they don’t have to be boxed in to a particular career, sound or expectation in their lives.
