East Lansing Summer Solstice Jazz Festival

 

 

The Summer Solstice Jazz Festival will be held June 22-23 in downtown East Lansing. The event will begin at 4:30p.m. and end at 10:30p.m. The afterglow will be located at Beggar’s Banquet, 21 Abbot Road, from 10:45p.m. – 12:30a.m. This free event features local and national jazz performers, produced by the City of East Lansing, Wharton Center for Performing Arts and the Michigan State University College of Music.

 

 

The lineup for the Friday show is as follows:

6:00p.m.          Community Music School Jazz Orchestra

7:30p.m.          Wycliffe Gordon & Niki Haris

9:15p.m.          Ritmo

Power of 9! June 8th 11:30-2pm

Summer Resource Fair & Cook Out-- Free Food, Games, and Resource fair for summer jobs, programs and "things to do"

  • When: June 8th, 2012 @ 11:30 - 2pm

Frances Park, Lansing, MI

 

  • Why:  Lansing area teens gather themselves every year at a local park on the last day of school. We will meet the kids where they are and provide the resources they need to keep them active, engaged and learning during the summer months.

AMBER ALERT 6/1/12

The Michigan State Police is investigating an endangered missing child, Brandy T. Gray, last seen at her home in El Dorado, Kansas.

 

She is 13 years old, 5 feet 2 inches, 120 pounds, brown eyes and brown hair.

She is believed to be in extreme danger.

She was allegedly abducted by Kenneth Stewart McGill, 20 year old, 5 feet 6 inches, 139 pounds, brown eyes and brown hair.

Suspects vehicle may be in the Kinyon, MI area near I-69.

Vehicle is white 2006 Chevrolet Impala with Ontario, Canada license number BMZH238.
